Kitchen Dance’n

Sweat may be pour’n, feet may be ache’n,
Brows may be furrowed from hay bale pitch’n,
But, though work is call’n and labors are pull’n,
‘Tis never too much for a dance in the kitchen.

Folks may demand, consumers command,
Time may be tick’n and deadlines a-crunch’n,
Though shoes may keep run’n at everyone’s summon,
Just kick them right off for a dance in the kitchen.

Rain may be pound’n, and thunder resound’n,
The cloudiest day might keep everyone itch’n,
The storm sounds may holler, make ya run for the celler,
But at the end of the day there’s a dance in the kitchen.

Be under the weather, feel worse than ever,
Baby is cry’n, the kiddos are munch’n,
The beans have burned and the cat hasn’t learned—
There ain’t no better time for a dance in the kitchen.

When I’ve Given It My All

When the Battle isn’t dying
And I’m weary sore from fighting,
And I feel I cannot go another mile,
When I am at my lowest,
He yet more grace bestoweth,
When I am through, God begins to smile.

He sees when a sparrow falls,
He hears when a baby calls,
He knows when I’ve given it my all,
And that’s when
He takes my trembling hand,
He lifts me from the sinking sand,
For then, He can work His master plan.

It’s only in the nothing,
That He can do everything,
For when I am my weakest He is strong.
When I’ve climbed the highest mountain,
Just to find another waiting,
That’s when He gives me one more song.

He sees when a sparrow falls,
He hears when a baby calls,
He knows when I’ve given it my all,
And that’s when
He takes my trembling hand,
He lifts me from the sinking sand,
For then, He can work His master plan.

Make Me Your Hands and Feet

Empty, lost and hopeless, in a world of fear,
People wander aimlessly with none to care.
Crying out for someone who will hear their deepest cry,
In the darkness, in their blindness,
Knowing not that for them You died.

Lord, to be Your messenger, this I ask of Thee,
Not to speak words of eloquence
but to touch the heart that’s in need.
Lifting up the fallen ones with the love of Calvary
To every soul and every wounded heart,
May I be Your hands and feet.

To walk alongside the lonely,
To help the feeble to stand,
To bind up the wounds of the broken,
And touch with Your loving hand.

Lord, to be Your messenger, this I ask of Thee,
Not to speak words of eloquence
But to touch the heart that’s in need.
Lifting up the fallen ones with the love of Calvary
To every soul and every wounded heart,
May I be Your hands and feet.

Look Unto Me

I was afraid to even pray "Thy will be done."
I held so tightly to my way, afraid to kneel.
For, though I knew at Calvary my Savior won,
Still, distant storm clouds frightened me; but now I feel—

His tender voice is bringing warmth amidst the cold,
His gentle arm is holding me safe and secure,
His calming peace, His boundless love,
Infinite grace, strength from above,
"Look not unto what lies ahead, look unto Me."

Though trials may come, though storms arise, yet will I sing.
With yielded will, I fix my eyes upon my Lord,
Finding my hope in Him alone, my sovereign King,
Holding His hand to lead me Home, trusting His Word.

His tender voice is bringing warmth amidst the cold,
His gentle arm is holding me safe and secure,
His calming peace, His boundless love,
Infinite grace, strength from above,
"Look not unto what lies ahead, look unto Me."

And looking not unto the path ahead,
Let come what may, I do not fear or dread,
For I have heard my Savior say to me,
"Not to the future, but unto Me bow the knee."

His tender voice is bringing warmth amidst the cold,
His gentle arm is holding me safe and secure,
His calming peace, His boundless love,
Infinite grace, strength from above,
"Look not unto what lies ahead, look unto Me."

It’s Not The End

I watched as my dreams began to crumble
Like autumn leaves upon the road I trod,
No matter where I placed my feet
My plans all shattered on the street
Everything I’d worked for seemed as naught.
With tears and sweat I labored for this day
Just to wake up and see it all was swept away.
Could I find a brand new start?
Or would that also fall apart?
Was there more to life than being a slave?

“Take heart, My son,” I heard my Father say,
“You’re not the only one I have led along this way.
I know it confounds the wise,
Don’t let it take you by surprise,
The seeds I plant to bring forth fruit must first die.
It’s not the end.”

Joseph I led through Egypt’s dungeon,
Jeremiah I placed within the mire.
Daniel who was good and true
To the hungry lions’ mouths I threw,
Three Hebrew friends I led into the fire.
Then one dark day, long ago, I came,
And in the eyes of men I threw my life away.
But what the world would hide from view
Are the vict’ries that ensued,
And I have a broader plan for you.

“Take heart, My son,” I heard my Father say,
“You’re not the only one I have led along this way.
I know it confounds the wise,
Don’t let it take you by surprise,
The seeds I plant to bring forth fruit must first die.
It’s not the end.”

And just before the dawn the night is darkest,
And when all hope is gone My glory shines brightest.

“Take heart, My son,” I heard my Father say,
“You’re not the only one I have led along this way.
I know it confounds the wise,
Don’t let it take you by surprise,
The seeds I plant to bring forth fruit must first die.
It’s not the end.”

If He Can Use a Stable

If He can use the smallest things to work His mighty plan,
If He can use the simple things to draw men to His hand,
If He can speak through paupers low a message to the world,
Then may my prayer be always that through me He can be heard.

Take our home and use it for Thy glory
Take our heart and use it for Thy Thone,
If Thy birthplace was a shed,
If a manger gave Thee bed,
If a hillside gave Thee place where the hungry could be fed,
Then take our humble lives, and use them as Thine Own.

If He can use a virgin’s womb to bear the King of kings,
If He can make His presence known through songs a shepherd sings,
If He can turn a stable to a holy temple place,
Then I will bow with contrite heart and offer him my praise.

Take our home and use it for Thy glory
Take our heart and use it for Thy Thone,
If Thy birthplace was a shed,
If a manger gave Thee bed,
If a hillside gave Thee place where the hungry could be fed,
Then take our humble lives, and use them as Thine Own.

If He can use a stable, if He can use a hill,
Then what I have to offer, He can use that still.

Take our home and use it for Thy glory
Take our heart and use it for Thy Thone,
If Thy birthplace was a shed,
If a manger gave Thee bed,
If a hillside gave Thee place where the hungry could be fed,
Then take our humble lives, and use them as Thine Own.

I Shall Yet Praise Him

I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
I will remember what He wrought in days of old.
Though now the night be dark upon me,
To His goodness I will bow the knee,
For soon the dawn will break with glories yet untold.

Yet, the Lord will command His lovingkindness in the day,
He will guide me in the glory of His light,
And in the night His song shall be
Echoing sweet melody,
And my prayer unto the God of my life.

I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
I will remember what He wrought in days of old.
Though now the night be dark upon me,
To His goodness I will bow the knee,
For soon the dawn will break with glories yet untold.
