Hello, Welcome to my desk. I hope my poems have been as much a blessing to you as they have been to me while writing them.
As a young girl, I was never very fond of poetry. In my mind it was too tedious, too far-fetched, too complex, and in some cases quite the opposite of intriguing. However, as I entered high school I was confronted with the assignment of making poems--if for no other reason than to check off that part of educational experience. But what I had not anticipated happened, as soon as my pen met the paper I was enthralled. Suddenly a world opened up before me that I had not known. Since then, the Lord has nurtured that skill through various means and it has been a sheer delight to pass on the messages He places on my heart through the art of poetry.
Each poem has a unique story behind it of why it was inspired. Some are more intricate and lengthy while others are more simple and brief, yet common to each one of them is the support of much prayer and dedication. I sincerely say, it is His pen in my hand.
God has a pen with which He desires to use to write His story in your life. In Jeremiah 29:11-13 says,
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
Is His pen in your hand? Have you given control of the "script" of your life to Christ to let Him live through you? As long as you hold on to your own pen trying to "sketch it out" yourself, your life will never become more than a sheet of paper with a mess of black marks. But if you let Him write His plan for your life through you, you will be amazed at the beauty and joy it brings as you live a life that glorifies the King of kings. Then, it will no longer be you struggling to write your own story with your own pen, it will be His pen in your hand--Christ living in you.
It is my prayer that the Lord would use the poems he gives me to draw you closer to Himself. May your heart be encouraged, your thoughts refreshed, and your life enriched.
His Handmaiden,

Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee;
Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King.
Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be not longer mine;
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.
Lord, I give my life to Thee,
Thine forevermore to be;
Lord, I give my life to Thee,
Thine forevermore to be.
