I Am The Truth

Vs. 1) This world is in confusion, blinded by the darkness of sin;

They cry, “Peace! Peace!” when nothing but chaos rules within.

Some are groping for a purpose, some their own gods try to prove,

Yet within the soul of every man is a longing for the truth.

Vs. 2) The changing winds of doctrine, the many religions of man,

Gods of stone and wood, all leave the lost with an empty hand.

Like Pilate cried, “What is the Truth?!” so cry the lost today.

And hear the Way, the Truth, the Life, our Savior, Christ, proclaim:

Ch.) I am the Truth!

I am absolute Sovereign, Lord of Heaven and earth,

I give life purpose; I’m the Maker of the universe.

I am the Truth!

Vs. 3) Some say there are no absolute, or claim there is no Almighty God,

That creation has just come about by chance and time’s applause.

But all throughout the ages the call rings out to man,

Through the thunder and the whispering breeze— ‘tis the voice of the Great I Am!

Ch.) I am the Truth!

I am absolute Sovereign, Lord of Heaven and earth,

I give life purpose; I’m the Maker of the universe.

I am the Truth!

Bridge) Beside me there is none, apart from Me no life,

All other gods have fallen, but today I am alive—alive!

Ch.) I am the Truth!
