Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Oh, make my goal to be
A meek and quiet spirit that
Is precious, Lord, to Thee.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Humble, pure, and true.
Make my life a testimony
Pointing all to You.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Of beauty, joy, and grace.
And in my home may others find
A pleasant, peaceful place.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Prudent, honest, and just.
While having respect for authority,
Courageously doing the must.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Content with what’s possessed,
Where even with simplicity
My heart finds perfect rest.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Gracious and discrete,
Doing what is needful,
Leaving the rest at your feet.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Humble, graceful, and meek.
May I pleasure to others bring,
Yet never my own to seek.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
Temperate, patient with faith;
Not trying to be first or have the best,
But possessing the strength to wait.
Oh, make my life like Esther’s, Lord,
A joy to all around,
Until that day, when by Thy grace,
I wear a golden crown.
